Children’s Miracle Network Kid’s Day

Walmart is hosting a Kid’s Day fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Walmart, 803 New Franklin Road. Rides, activities and vendors will be at the event. Arm bands are $10 for unlimited rides and other ticket prices are available. Proceeds will go to Children’s Miracle Network.

Los Nopales breast cancer fundraiser

Los Nopales will donate a portion of all sales to Hope for a Day on Saturday. Commemorative T-shirts will be sold while supplies last. Representatives will be on hand all day to answer questions about the event and sign up walkers and crew members for this year’s Hope for a Day breast cancer walk on Sept. 29.

Raffle to benefit West Georgia Hospice

LaGrange Newcomers’ Club is selling raffle tickets to benefit West Georgia Hospice. Tickets are $5 to win one of three prizes: the grand prize, a 42-inch Vizio HD TV with wi-fi, valued at $600; second prize, a gardening gift basket; and third prize, a spa gift basket. Bracelets to raise funds for Kyle Czarnonycz

Lime green “Kicking it for Kyle” bracelets are available for $5. Kyle Czarnonycz, a 2011 graduate of Callaway High School, was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The slogan “Kicking it for Kyle” reflects his love of soccer and also the battle he is fighting against this disease. Proceeds from the bracelet sales will be given to the Czarnonycz family for medical expenses. They can be purchased at the LSPA office at 214 Bull St., at First Presbyterian Church in LaGrange, or from Matt Leonard at Callaway High School. Motorcycle ride for United Way

Kimberly-Clark will host its fourth annual motorcycle ride and poker run to benefit United Way of West Georgia on June 9 beginning at Kimberly-Clark Corp., 1300 Orchard Hill Road. Cost is $20 per bike and $5 for riders. A barbecue lunch is included and door prizes will be drawn at the end of the ride. Highest poker hand wins $100 gift card. Car show to benefit ‘Our Fallen Soldier’

Cruisin’ Cars on the Mountain rally will be held June 16 and 17 at Pine Mountain Resort, 8804 Hamilton Road in Pine Mountain. Day passes are $5 for adults and $3 for children. In addition to a car show, the event will feature live music, food, vendors, door prizes and raffles. Lobbin’ for Literacy tennis tournament

Lobbin’ for Literacy, an annual tennis tournament that provides resources for a summer reading program in the local housing authority, will be June 22 through 24 at McCluskey Tennis Center. Any level tennis player is welcome to play. To register, go to www.troupclcp.org or call 706-756-4645.

Cat adoption day

The City of LaGrange Animal Shelter and the LaGrange Troup County Humane Society will host “Summer Blast Adoption Day” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 23 at Bruster’s on Vernon Road. All cat adoption fees will be half price, ranging from $8 to $25. There will also be a list of dogs available for $18.50. Bruster’s will sell food, drinks and ice cream.

5K run/1 mile walk in memory of Ray Stewart

The second annual “Ray’s Run” will be held July 14 beginning at Troup County Parks and Recreation on Lafayette Parkway. Registration is $25 before July 10 and includes a T-shirt; cost is $50 after that date and a T-shirt is not guaranteed. Proceeds from the run benefit the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation in memory of Deputy Chief Ray Stewart. Fur Ball

LaGrange Troup County Humane Society’s annual fundraiser, “Peace, Love and Paws Fur Ball” will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 4 at Lafayette Garden Inn. The event includes dinner, dancing and a silent auction. Tickets are $40 in advance or $45 at the door. For tickets, call 706-298-3608.
