School board fills positions

The Troup County school board has appointed Nicole Teaver as instructional specialist at Franklin Forest Elementary School and Lauren Wilson as registrar at Troup High School.

Teaver, who currently teaches fifth grade at West Side Magnet School, is a graduate of Auburn University. where she earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She received a master’s degree and leadership certificate at the State University of West Georgia and an educational specialist degree at Troy State University. Before joining the Troup County school system in 1999, she taught for six years at Carrollton Elementary School.

“I am absolutely thrilled to join the Falcon Family at Franklin Forest Elementary School,” Teaver said. “This is a school that has been impressive to our community since its first year of existence. Having worked with (principal) Carol Montgomery before, I am sure that we will be a fantastic team to continue all the outstanding programs going on at Franklin Forest.”

Wilson is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in education. She received a master’s degree in educational leadership and educational specialist degree at Troy State University. Most recently, Wilson was employed with West Georgia RESA as a school improvement specialist. She formerly worked with Troup County schools as a teacher at Gardner Newman Middle School and served as assistant principal at Heard County High School.

“I’m very excited to be back in Troup County and getting started at Troup High,” Wilson said. “Great things are going on and I’m ready to be a part of it.”

Both positions will begin this week.
