A woman was arrested for allegedly smuggling contraband into the Troup County Jail Wednesday.

Ravyn Lashelle McCrary, 28, of Cusseta, Ala. reportedly took a plastic bag full of clothing to inmate Jacalvious Marquez Ricks on July 12, four days before his court date. Detention officers inspected the clothing for contraband and found four small bags of suspected marijuana sewn into the hemming of a pair of pants.

McCrary returned to visit ricks on July 25, when she was informed of the active warrants for her arrest. She admitted to rolling marijuana into cigarettes and sewing them into the pant legs, according to a sheriff’s report.

She was arrested and charged with crossing the guard line with contraband, prohibited possession of inmate contraband and distribution of marijuana. Ricks was charged with prohibited possession of inmate contraband, the sheriff’s report said.
