LaGrange police have reported the seizure of nearly $10,000 from a residence in the 400 block of Bacon Street to the district attorney’s office in response to a drug investigation launched in January.

After receiving several anonymous tips accusing Fabian Phillips, 28, of selling marijuana from his home, police videotaped an undercover officer reportedly buying marijuana from him. Police searched Phillips’ residence Jan. 9 and located $9,815, including the undercover officer’s buy money, in a hidden compartment inside a wall.

Phillips was charged with possession with intent to distribute and sale of marijuana. He also must forfeit his vehicle, a 1993 Chevrolet Caprice.

A thief entered a residence in the 500 block of Gray Hill School Road and stole a pistol.

Forgery

A LaGrange woman’s Georgia income tax refund check for $359 was forged. The check was mailed to the woman’s previous residence in the 200 block of McGregor Street and was cashed in the victim’s name.

Deloach was headed east on Broad Street when another vehicle struck the passenger side of her car. The other driver, Ronald Janney, 61, of Hogansville was cited for failure to yield.
