Carl E. Dodson
Carl Eugene ‘Tucker’ Dodson, age 78 and husband of Donna Dodson, entered heaven on Monday, February 16, 2009 at home after a long struggle with cancer and Lewy Body disease.
He was a valiant fighter with a survivor attitude. His positive approach to life in general gave him wonder-filled years with his children and grandchildren.
Tucker was born November 22, 1930 in East Freedom, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Frances Imler Dodson. Following high school in Roaring Springs, PA, he entered Penn State University. The Korean War determined his entrance in the Air Force and the making of a 28-year career. He retired at the rank of Colonel. After his military service, he entered the corporate world, where he was an executive with the Seabrook Corporation. He retired with Seabrook in 1997 as Vice-President of Marketing. Tucker was a member of Stella Maris Catholic Church, Kiwanis, Penn State Alumni Association, Retired Officers Association, and the American Legion.
Tucker’s career and life allowed him to travel the world and that was one of his greatest pleasures. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Donna Maria Kinast Dodson, and they were just 3 months short of their 50th wedding anniversary. He was a phenomenal father and will be deeply missed by his wife; sons Greg (Carrie), Jon (Laura), and Eric (Hannah); his eleven grandchildren; and his sister, Patricia Horner. Grandson Nathan preceded him to heaven in 2000..
