Mr. Neighbors was born September 23, 1929 in Heard County, son of the late Benjamin and Alma Crockett Neighbors. He attended Grace Baptist Church and was retired from West Point Stevens.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Harvey Jr. and Debbie Lynn Neighbors of LaGrange; daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Richard Thran of Carrollton, Deb Neighbors, and Michelle and David Benson all of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Cory Neighbors, Kim Baker (Nathan) and Seth Benson; two great-grandchildren, Bridgette Baker, and Blaine Baker; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Charles Jackson of Douglasville, Grace Purvis of Louisiana, and Jeanette and Eddie Williams of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Jackie Neighbors of Centralhatchee; step-children, Cindy Noles, Mike McLeod (Gwenn) and Rhonda Chastain (Robbie); several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Upchurch Neighbors.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 Tuesday at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Benefield officiating.
The family will be at the home of Dawn and Mike Parmer, at 3153 West Point Road, and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7:00 until 9:00.
