Mrs. Mildred Dunson of LaGrange passed away Friday at LaGrange Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Dunson, a native of LaGrange, was born April 25, 1919 and was the daughter of late Corbin Lucious Davis Sr. and Linnie Ogletree Davis. She was educated in the LaGrange School System and joined the First Baptist Church, Fannin Street at an early age. She served faithfully as chairperson of the Hospitality Committee for a number of years. She was a former employee of City-County Hospital and later retired from Milliken and Company in 1982.

Survivors include her son and his wife, Richard and Wanda Dunson and their son, Ashton Brandon of Hillside, New Jersey; her daughter, Valerie Dunson, LaGrange; niece and nephew, Dr. Charles and June Heath, Southfield, Michigan and their son, great nephew: William Charles Heath II; great-great nephews: Quinton Heath and Drake Heath, Henderson, Nevada; cousins: Erma Davis, Silver Springs, Maryland; Thelma Goodwin, Athens, Georgia; many other relatives, her church family and friends.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, Fannin Street. Dr. Clarence Sams and Rev. Johnnie Freeman will officiate. Burial will be in the Southview Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Valerie Dunson at 130 Brenda Boulevard and will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 until 8.
