Some decisions are tough, such as what career to choose or who to marry.

What college to attend usually falls into the tough category as well, but that’s not the case for Troup High fullback Brandon Worle.

Worle, a junior, has verbally committed to play football at LSU. Worle made that decision while visiting the school last weekend, and he didn’t need time to think when the coaches asked him to come play football at LSU.

“Honestly, this is what I’ve been waiting for,” said Worle, a self-professed life-long fan of LSU football. “It’s who I’ve been waiting for.”

Worle had one offer on the table from Oklahoma State, and other offers were sure to follow for the 6-foot-1 running back.

But Worle knows what he wants, and that’s to play football at LSU.

“It’s a dream,” he said.

Nothing is official, of course, until February of 2010 when players can sign their letters of intent.

Troup head coach Bubba Jeter sent a highlight DVD of Worle to LSU, and it worked its way up the ladder to head coach Les Miles.

Soon after, Jeter said LSU called and said it was ready to offer Worle a scholarship.

The coach said he got a call from Worle over the weekend, and the message was simple.

“He told me, ‘I’m going to LSU,’ ” Jeter said.

Worle and other juniors spent the weekend at LSU, meeting coaches and touring the facilities.

It was Worle’s first trip to LSU, and it didn’t disappoint.

“I met the coaches, toured around, met the players,” Worle said. “It’s a nice campus, nice facilities, and the people were great.”

Before LSU gets its hands on Worle, Jeter will have him back for one more season.

The coach said Worle will be the centerpiece of next season’s offense.

“He’s probably going to get it 20, 25 times a game. He’s going to get it a lot,” Jeter said. “The offense we’ll be running will be a fullback offense.”
