After opening the season with three straight losses, the Tigers began their Region 5-AAAA schedule with a 49-7 thumping of homestanding Alexander Friday night.
Troup stormed out to a 49-0 lead in the third quarter before the reserves got a chance to play.
Daryl Dunlap put the Tigers on the board with a 46-yard touchdown run with 5:54 remaining in the opening quarter.
In the second quarter, Ricky Frazier scored on a 30-yard run, and the two-point conversion gave Troup a 14-0 lead with 4:58 showing on the clock.
With two minutes left in the second quarter, Bruce Danford scored on a 2-yard run, and the extra point gave the Tigers a 21-0 lead.
After Malcolm Tatum came up with an interception, Frazier scored on a 28-yard run, and Troup was up 28-0 at the half.
Early in the third quarter, Dunlap padded the lead with a 32-yard touchdown run, and the Tigers led 35-0.
Devonte Carter added a 13-yard touchdown run with 5:36 remaining in the third quarter, and Dalton Hadley capped the scoring a few minutes later when he returned a punt 26 yards for a touchdown.
Troup faces a major test Friday night when Sandy Creek visits Callaway Stadium for a region showdown.
Sandy Creek won back-to-back state championships in 2009 and 2010 before losing in the quarterfinals last season.
Sandy Creek is ranked first in Class AAA.
