Mrs. Moore was born February 17, 1918 in Keota, OK, daughter of the late Albert B. Kennon and Robena Gordon Kennon. She had lived in Pine Mountain most of her life and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Mrs. Moore was retired from Playtex. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Moore, Sr., and by two grandsons.
Survivors include her children, William R. and Dickie Moore of Sharpsburg, Kennon E. and Dianne Moore of Pine Mountain, James E. and Lonnie Moore of Fayetteville, and Larry and Barbara Moore of Pine Mountain; a sister, Faye Ellis of Hamilton; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 this evening.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Midway Baptist Church (2495 Hopewell Church Road, Pine Mountain, GA 31822) in memory of Doris K. Moore.
