Burglaries, thefts

•A resident of the first block of First Avenue in West Point said four girls on a four-wheeler drove into her yard, ran over her dog and stole a puppy.

•A resident of the 100 block of Teaver Court reported the theft of a iPod Touch valued at $350 from the residence.

•A thief took a 1999 red Ford F-150 truck from behind a residence in the 400 block of Northfield Drive.

•A Valley, Ala., man said someone stole $700 from him at West Point Motel at 7800 West Point Road.

•An elderly LaGrange woman said a man contacted her, telling her she had won a prize and sent her a $2,000 check. Following the man’s instructions, she sent $700 to him after depositing the check, but later found out the check was fraudulent.

•A thief broke out the front window of a 1997 Dodge Neon in the 500 block of Harwell Avenue and stole a silver stereo face plate, which the owner valued at $200.

•A teenager caught allegedly trying to shoplift a pair of headphones and some bedsheets from Walmart on New Franklin Road told police he was told to steal the items or “some dude” would hurt his little brother in Augusta.

•A resident of of North Cary Street said someone entered his apartment and stole his Fujifilm camera valued at $200.

•A thief took a bicycle of undisclosed value from the front porch of a home in the 800 block of Forrest Avenue.

•Three men in a silver truck entered a home in the 600 block of Arthur Street and took two TVs from inside, a witness said.

Damage

•Residents of the first block of Civers Road said a vandal broke out the rear window and bent the door panel of a semi truck parked at a residence, causing about $1,000 damage.

•Someone put sugar in the gas tank and slashed a tire of a 2004 Ford Explorer at Whispering Pines Apartments at 1515 Hogansville Road. Damage was estimated at $250 for the tire.

•Vandals caused more than $500 estimated damage to a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 300 block of North Sanford Avenue.

Arrests

•Elvis Lamar Skipper, 32, whose address was unavailable, was charged with methamphetamine possession after officers found him at a home with suspected methamphetamine and a smoking pipe. The homeowner, whom Skipper said he was watching the home for, had warrants issued for methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute after officers executed a search warrant and found cash, scales and more suspected meth in a locked room.

•Frank Suggs, 44, and LaShannon Suggs, 35, of Millbrook, Ala., were charged with cocaine possession with intent to distribute after deputies found about an ounce of suspected crack and powder cocaine in their vehicle after pulling them over on Interstate 85.
