Both candidates loaded with liabilities

If you take an objective view of Mitt Romney and Barack Obama, it is evident that both men are loaded with liabilities. Unfortunately, most Republicans and Democrats are not willing to accept this truth. Only political independents are objective.

President Obama, who lost the first debate to Romney, has not done a good job with the economy. In fact, he has added over $4 trillion to the national debt. The unemployment rate has continued to be too high during his time as president.

Obama has failed in his policy concerning the Middle East. Like George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, he has tried unsuccessfully to deal with the Muslim countries.

In my opinion we should get out of Libya, Egypt, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The only true friend we have in the Middle East is Israel. Republicans and Democrats should realize that our foreign aid should be only to Israel.

Yes, President Obama has many faults. However, Mitt Romney is also loaded with many liabilities. Like Obama, he too wants to keep a presence in the Muslim nations. He too needs to realize that Muslims in the Middle East literally hate the United States and want us to get out of their countries. Again, all these billions of dollars we give to the Muslims will not make them our friends.

Mitt Romney claims he wants to balance the budget. However, he doesn’t have a plan to do so. He needs to pay attention to the Simpson-Bowles committee – a committee that correctly says we must do two things to balance the budget.

According to Simpson-Bowles, we have to raise taxes on the middle class and the rich. Romney has said he will not raise taxes on anyone. Simpson-Bowles says, in order to balance the budget, we have to cut Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and Pentagon spending. Romney is not willing to make any of these cuts.

Yes, Romney claims he will balance the federal budget, but he does not have the intestinal fortitude to make it happen. Unfortunately, like Obama, he is not willing to make the tough decisions.

If you look at Romney seriously and objectively, he is not a true conservative. Republicans who think he is are fooling themselves. The real Romney is the Governor Romney of Massachusetts.

As an independent, I don’t like Romney or Obama. As I have repeatedly said, I think Romney will win because of the weak economy. But he will not govern as a bonafide conservative. Of that I am 100 percent sure.

Reverend, since you don't like Romney or Obama I would hope you would vote for neither one. Vote for the locals but not the Chief Executive. One thing that bothers me is that we the people are being punished for poor management of this country/company. Let's say that you work very hard for a company. You put in more than what is required of you yet the company squanders money, and goes way into the red yet it asks you for a cut in pay and to work longer hours. Such is the way of the US. It punishes its people for its own mismanagement. Americans are also getting weaker because they are becoming offended easier and over the smallest of issues and even words. If you mention Allah to a Christian, they are ready for a fight even though the term is simply an Arab word for the same diety. Racism has also increased as well yet many are afraid to admit it. Can Obama fix the problems? Perhaps. Can Romney do any better? Maybe. If Romney wins, though and implements his policies especially regarding reproductive rights of women, please at the end of his term, place all of the unwanted and unplanned children at his doorstep so he can care for them. If you really want someone who can actually do all of this alone, you need to elect a temporary dictator and dissolve Congress but our country was founded to prevent such. As I've said, especially to you Reverend, if you don't like either candidate, don't vote for either and not the lesser of two evils. Regardless of who wins, after four years a lot of people will be chanting the same thing..."I told you so" pro or con.
