Nine of Photographer Lee Cathey’s more colorful prints are being featured this month in the lobby of the Georgia Welcome Center in West Point on Interstate 85.

Cathey owns and operates Multi-Image Studio Inc. on Lukken Industrial Drive. He formed the business in 1991 and specializes in still photography of people, places, products and events.

The exhibit focuses on Cathey’s love of nature.

“Those are all relatively new,” Cathey said of the prints at the Welcome Center. “Four of the shots were taken in the studio, two were taken in my yard, and the others were taken at different locations.”

None of the photographs are mounted in traditional frames. Cathey stretched the prints over wooden frames that has the miter cuts concealing the folds of the paper, which he said allows viewers to follow the color of the print in a three-dimensional display.

“I just like color, patterns and shapes, and the pop of color, that was my goal for this particular thing,” he said. “There’s a lot of color in the building so I said, ‘let’s shoot them.’ It was a combination of shape, shadow and color for this project.”

For further information on the sale of the displayed prints or for available services that are offered at Multi-Image Studio, please contact Lee Cathey at 706-884-7101.
