LaGrange has a busy four-game schedule this week, beginning with a home game against Pacelli today at 5:30 p.m.

Pacelli - which won the Class A state title last season - beat LaGrange 7-4 earlier this season.

The Grangers host Hardaway on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and visit Carrollton on Thursday before returning home to face Newnan on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Last week, the Grangers whipped Carrollton 14-4, and LaGrange head coach Donnie Branch is sure that game will be fresh on the Trojans’ minds.

“When we go up there, it’ll be a battle,” Branch said. “They’ll be reminded they were 10-run ruled.”

While Hardaway has struggled a bit with a 1-4 record, Pacelli, Carrollton and Newnan have a combined record of 16-3.

The Grangers (3-4) have played a brutal schedule this season that included four games in the LaGrange Invitational.

“This experience is going to be very important down the road,” Branch said of the tough schedule.

Like LaGrange, Troup has faced a challenging early-season schedule, and the Tigers have struggled to a 2-4 record.

It doesn’t get any easier this week.

Troup hosts Pacelli on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. before visiting Class AAAAA North Cobb on Saturday.

Troup coach Craig Garner set up the schedule knowing how difficult it would be.

His mindset has always been he’d rather see his team lost to a quality team than beat an inferior opponent.

Still, he said no one is satisfied with losing.

“Our attitude is going to be, we’re expecting to win these games,” Garner said. “It’s tough to be 2-4.”

In GISA baseball, the LaGrange Academy Warriors (1-1) have three games on tap this week.

The Warriors will be on the road Tuesday at Heritage and Friday at Christian Heritage.

The Warriors return home Saturday for a game against Oak Mountain at 1 p.m.
