Downtown merchants are decorating their shops and stocking their shelves in anticipation of the Christmas season and the gift shopping that the holiday brings for Sunday’s annual Holiday Open House.

The shops will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. with many of the merchants offering specials throughout the day like complementary gift wrapping and sampling of holiday treats.

“A pre-holiday stroll through downtown LaGrange shops promises to inspire visitors to shop and welcome in the Christmas season,” said Barbie Watts, director of promotions and marketing for the Downtown LaGrange Development Authority. “Some of the many businesses that will be open this Sunday are Bradley’s Antiques and More, Lemon Tree Shoppes, Marketplace on LaFayette Square, Plum Southern, Precious House of Style, The Ritzy Roost, Splash Kitchens & Bath, Stephens Exclusives and The White Orchid and Whimzey.”

Shoppers may start their day off by enjoying lunch downtown at one of LaGrange’s restaurants that are regularly open on Sunday, Watts said, and Taste of Lemon will be open specifically for the event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
