The Troup County Government Center on Ridley Avenue is undergoing a beautification project estimated to cost $100,000. Plants and trees were among the upgrades. Other items in the project, designed by Reece, Hoopes and Fincher architects in Atlanta, were an archway at the Ridley Avenue entrance to match an archway at the Greenville Street entrance, window upgrades in the parking deck and new benches. The Callaway Foundation contributed $26,000, and the other financing was provided by the county’s special-purpose local-option sales tax.

with over 126,000 they can pay several teachers!!! I have often wondered why the sacrifice is always being asked of our children rather than our government officials. Schools are falling apart in some areas while beautiful bushes are being planted outside the courthouse.

More money wasted by our local government. What a bunch of idiots.

In 2000 years, some archaeologist is going to be digging through our ruins and announce that these "flower pots" are the remnants of some highly advanced civilization. Our government center will be looked upon with the same reverence as the temples in Athens, Greece.
