The Irish Bred Pub on Dec. 8 will host the Rock for Tots Benefit Concert, the first of a planned annual event mixing a toy drive with local music.

Ruth Williams, owner of the Irish Bred Pub on Third Avenue in West Point, is partnering with the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation and a group of local musicians to host the first annual Rock for Tots Benefit Concert. Four local bands will perform at the event: Barstool Prophets, Trap County, Wicked Dixie and Hangin’ Tough, featuring Jimmy Farrar of Molly Hatchet.

“The concert is an effort to raise funds and collect toys for the USMC Toys for Tots Foundation to be distributed locally to children in need,” said C. J. Johnson of Barstool Prophets. “This is a great chance to spread Christmas cheer, share a great night of live entertainment, and make a difference in the lives of people right here in Troup County.”

The show begins at 8 p.m., and admission is $10 or a new, unwrapped toy. There also will be drop off boxes in several locations in West Point and surrounding areas through the months of November and December for donations prior to or after the event.
