Mr. John Hardnett Jr. of 1001 Park Avenue passed away Tuesday at the Columbus Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Hardnett, a native of Troup County, was born August 2, 1933 and was the son of the late Rev. John Henry Hardnett Sr. and Viola Tucker Hardnett. He was a retired bus driver for the Troup County School System. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member and Deacon of Mount Beulah Baptist Church.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 58 years, Corrine Hardnett; two children: Gwendolyn Pinson (Johnny), Jonesboro, GA; Pamela Huzzie, LaGrange; one sister, Thursbia Hardnett, East Point, GA; grandson, Mykelti Heard, LaGrange; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Hildred Towns, Leotie Carter, and Brenda Hurston.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 2:00PM at the Mount Beulah Baptist Church. Rev. W. Craig Thornton will officiate. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery with military honors.
