The LaGrange High basketball teams continued their perfect starts to the season with wins at East Coweta Friday night.

In the boys’ game, the Grangers rolled to a 72-58 victory, while the Lady Grangers cruised to a 60-29 win.

Both teams are 4-0 heading into today’s games at Callaway.

In Friday’s boys’ game, Justyn Olson led the way with 15 points, Joe Sanders added 12 points, and Kwame Brown scored 10 points.

The Grangers led 14-8 after the first quarter, and they were up 38-29 at the half.

The lead was 51-41 through three periods, and the Grangers pulled away in the final quarter.

It was the second time LaGrange has played East Coweta this season, and the rematch was more competitive than the first game, a 77-53 victory for the Grangers.

“East Coweta played a lot better,” LaGrange assistant coach Mark Veal said. “Our kids played hard and faced some adversity on the road. They made some runs, and we were able to sustain them and pull back away.”

Friday’s girls’ game was a mismatch, with LaGrange dominating from beginning to end.

Brittany Tatum led LaGrange with 16 points, KaBrenna Smith added 15 points, and Breanna Grant scored 13.

Steara Mitchell chipped in with nine points.
