The LaGrange High basketball teams are getting a night off.

The LaGrange teams were supposed to play Columbus High today in a Region 5-AAAA doubleheader.

Those games have been postponed, though, because the gym at Columbus High won’t be available.

LaGrange High boys’ coach Mike Pauley said there was a miscommunication at the school, and that gym floor is being worked on this week even though the team was supposed to play today.

The teams also can’t play at LaGrange High today, because the LaGrange wrestling team is hosting a meet.

LaGrange and Columbus will make up today’s games on Feb. 9.

LaGrange’s teams will still get their time in on the court this week with games Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, LaGrange will host region foe Alexander before hitting the road Saturday for more region games against Fayette County.

Both LaGrange teams are looking to continue their hot starts to the season.

The Lady Grangers are 11-1, and they thumped Shaw 60-23 in their region opener on Friday.

The Grangers are 10-2, and they edged Shaw 60-58 on a last-second basket by Baron Smith.
