Three people were arrested Wednesday morning after officers found a wanted man hiding in a freezer.

According to a police report, LPD officers and agents from the U.S. Marshals Service went to a residence in the 200 block of East Hillside Drive looking for a subject with several active warrants. U.S. Marshals knocked on the front door and received no response, but heard what sounded like someone running to the back of the residence.

Marshals went through the front door and found Crystal Gates, 38, and Aundreal Gates, 19, both of LaGrange. They both said that the person who officers were looking for, Martavious Gates, 23, of LaGrange, was not in the residence.

After searching the house, officers located Martavious Gates hiding inside a freezer inside the residence. He was charged with obstruction, and had active warrants for parole violation, failure to appear and two counts of resisting arrest.

Crystal Gates and Aundreal Gates were each charged with hindering the apprehension of a criminal. All three were arrested and taken to Troup County Jail.
