FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOOK TWICE SAVE A LIFE, INC. IS LEADING A STATEWIDE MOTORCYCLE AWARENESS INITIATIVE

Look Twice Save a Life, Inc. Distributes Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s “Intersection” Motorcycle Awareness Kits to All 159 Counties in Georgia via the Georgia Sheriff Departments.

LaGrange, GA – With the increase of motorcycle accidents occurring throughout Georgia, the overwhelming lack of motorcycle awareness among car drivers has become more apparent. In an effort to educate drivers and potential drivers and promote the safety of motorcyclists, thus reducing the number of motorcycle accidents, Look Twice Save a Life, Inc. (LTSAL) has made arrangements to purchase from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) a quantity of “Intersection” motorcycle awareness kits to be distributed to all 159 Sheriff Departments across the state. These awareness kits will be shown, via the Sheriff Departments, to every participating school in the state of Georgia.

The 14-minute Intersection DVD is about real people in real driving situations, and highlights the need for car and truck drivers to focus and avoid distractions, thus promoting awareness. “It illustrates potentially hazardous situations through the eyes of different types of motorists and illustrates why intersections in particular are so dangerous,” states Ken Glaser, MSF’s director of special projects. These “Intersection” kits will be distributed, free of charge, to all 159 Georgia Sheriff Departments with additional kits for larger departments for the purpose of teaching children, teens, and adults about sharing the road with motorcyclists. The MSF’S charitable arm, the National Motorcycle Safety Fund, is enthusiastic about LTSAL’s outreach efforts and will be assisting with additional kits to ensure the success of this initiative.

The MSF has set internationally recognized standards that promote the safety of motorcyclists by working to promote cooperation and share-the-road concepts between motorists and motorcyclists. “Getting the message of motorcycle awareness into the hands of children and young adults is the key,” said Dr. Sue Duggan, “and the MSF has the resources to make this happen.”

The Georgia Department of Education has stated that individual school districts should make the choice as to how health standards should be taught. The “Intersection” DVD training kit is an effective and unique way to teach students motorcycle awareness and sharing the road.
