Mr. James Troy Nobley, Jr., age 76, of LaGrange, died on March 19, 2013 at West Georgia Health.
Mr. Nobley was born on September 17, 1936, in Randolph County to the late Troy Nobley, Sr. and Ellie V. Creed Nobley. Mr. Nobley proudly served his country in the United States Airforce and worked for many years and retired from the Kaydon Company as Supervisor of Shipping and Receiving. For over 20 years, Mr. Nobley coached little league football, baseball and basketball with the Troup County Recreation Department. One of the joys in his life was being able to travel with the Alsabrook Quartet as their lead guitarist for over 10 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Nobley.
Mr. Nobley is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Faye Wright Nobley. They shared a very special relationship. He is also survived by his daughter, Gayla Ann Crosby and her husband Ward of Nashville, Ga.; brothers, Jeriel Nobley and his wife Diane of LaGrange and Ratha Nobley and his wife Janet also of LaGrange; grandchildren, Shannon Delaine Barber and her husband Dean of Nashville, Ga. and Kimberley Kristin Ziegler and her husband David of Columbia, S.C.; great grandchildren, PaisleyAnn Elizabeth Barber and Maddison Raegan Ziegler; step-grandchildren, Jared, Ana and Amanda; 4 step great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel Funeral Home. Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
