A LaGrange man was being held in Troup County Jail today on charges stemming from an armed robberyin the 400 block of Ashton Street on March 17.

Jasmon Blackmon, 20, of Hawthorne Circle was charged with armed robbery, false imprisonment, aggravated battery and aggravated assault. Police accused Jasmon and two other men of following a man into his residence, holding him at gunpoint, pistol whipping him and stealing an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot. Jasmon was also charged with sale of cocaine during a drug investigation that revealed video footage of him attempting to deal to a police informant last week, police said.

Blackmon was arrested Friday afternoon at the Troup County Government Center at 100 Ridley Ave., when he attended a court hearing for an unrelated incident.

Burglaries, thefts

— A thief damaged the front door of a residence in the 200 block of Willowood Drive and stole $2,500 of electronic items including a flat screen TV, a laptop computer and video games Monday night.

— A thief stole a riding mower from a residence in the 100 block of Drummond Road after cutting a chain that secured it to the back porch.

— A trailer holding a truck engine was stolen from the 200 block of South Gates Road on Sunday night. The total value of the items stolen was $2,400.

Sleeper found in vacant apartment

Police found a LaGrange man sleeping in a vacant apartment in the 200 block of McGregor Street on Monday afternoon. The man damaged a side window valued at $300 to enter. A maintenance man found the man sleeping in the rear of the apartment with pieces of broken glass scattered around him. Police charged the man with criminal damage to property.

Arrest

Daniel Browning, 20, of Bartley Road was charged with theft by taking more than $500.

Stolen car

A 2003 champagne-colored Mercury Grand Marquis valued at $15,000 was stolen from the 300 block of South Gates Road on Monday afternoon. Its Georgia tag number is ABX4051.
