A LaGrange College football coach told police that a thief stole his 1996 Ford Expedition from the parking lot at Callaway Stadium on Thursday afternoon. He had put the keys under the floor mat and left the vehicle un-locked.

The Expedition, valued at $8,000, later was found undamaged at a park on Lindsey Street, where a witness saw three males get out of the vehicle and run. The keys were not found.

Arrest

An 18-year-old was arrested on criminal trespass charges Thursday at Georgia Access on Mooty Bridge Road after he went “mud riding” in a 1996 Jeep Wrangler and the vehicle got stuck in the mud. Troup County sheriff’s deputies said the vehicle caused substantial damage to the grounds, including a creek area.

The teen’s father met with the Army Corps of Engineers to arrange for repairs.

Tearing up the ground, littering, wish people would stop acting ugly and making the environment ugly.
