Two men who took part in the savage robbery of a LaGrange businessman received prison sentences Tuesday in Troup Superior Court.

Joshua Allen Rogers, 21, of LaGrange received six years in prison and six years’ probation, and Zachary Oliver Marshall, 20, of Hogansville received five years in prison and seven years’ probation after they pleaded guilty to robbery charges. They also have to come up with $8,332.51 to pay the victim’s medical and dental bills.

A third defendant, Joseph Dewitt Jones, 24, of La-Grange still faces charges of robbery in addition to aggravated assault and aggravated battery for allegedly beating the victim and causing serious head injuries.

Jones allegedly am-bushed Harold Lee, owner of Wing Man eatery at South Greenwood and Ashton streets, about 2 a.m. Dec. 14 when Lee arrived home on Caney Creek Road. Police said $80 was taken from his wallet and another $800 from his apron. Some of his teeth were knocked out and he still needs extensive dental work, a court worker said.

Jones and Marshall had worked for the victim and knew his daily schedule, police said.

I think it says that ONE person assaulted this man, Otherwise they would all be charged with the same thing.People are so quick to judge by only reading a paragraph. What happen to this man was wrong.. and they are paying a price for their part in this...
