Mrs. Jewell M. ‘Nanny’ Mote, 86, of LaGrange passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009, at West Georgia Medical Center.

Mrs. Mote was a native of LaGrange and was born August 9, 1922, daughter of the late William E. and Beulah Turner Thompson. She had lived here all her life and was a member of the Upper Room Apostolic Church. She was a retired waitress.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra M. Crenshaw of LaGrange; grandchildren, Keith (Michele) Hancock, Beth (Eric) Sun, and Brandy (Wayne) Knight, all of LaGrange and Peter (Jane) Morgan of Fairburn; nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her sisters and brothers in Christ and church family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Mote and a son, W.L. Morgan.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 Tuesday at the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with Pastor Mike Duke and Pastor Robert Smith officiating. Interment will be at Shadowlawn Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Sandra M. Crenshaw, and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
