Alisha Harrison, 19, was flown to Columbus Medical Center and treated for a gunshot wound.
A security guard also was injured in the shooting about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at Dave’s Place on Willie Price Road near Greenville.
Shone Martez Reeves, 23, died at 3:05 a.m. Sunday at West Georgia Medical Center from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen, said Meriwether County sheriff’s Col. Chuck Smith.
He said Mario Montsail McGill, 33, of Alvaton was arrested minutes later in a wooded area near the nightclub with a handgun was in his possession.
“We have about 300 witnesses and we’re still talking to people to get a clear idea of what happened,” Smith said Tuesday.
McGill was being held without bond on charges of murder, five counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, criminal trespass, criminal damage to property in the second degree, carrying a pistol without a license, discharging a firearm while under the influence of alcohol, having a deadly weapon at a public gathering, discharging a firearm on the property of another and carrying a concealed weapon.
Smith said it appears McGill was angry about being thrown out of the club and returned a short time later with a handgun.
“They tried to put him out again, and he pulls a handgun” in the foyer, Smith said.
Bullets penetrated the walls, hitting Reeves and Harrison, who were seated inside the club.
Smith said it appears the bullet ricocheted off a wall and hit Harrison in the back of the head, adding, “It was more of a glancing type wound” that didn’t penetrate the skull. He said “we have issues about her being 19,” but no charges had been filed.
The security guard, Henry Harrell, 49, of Decatur, was treated at the scene for a grazing wound in the back.
