Republicans can only rant

Dear Editor.

We have all experienced enlightenment - at lease a few times in our lifetime. The “Opinion” page (6) of April 30th was a “wow” event. First the brilliant reporting related to President Obama‘s first 100 days in office was - well, Republican at least - demeaning and insignificant in content at best. Come on, Mr. Westmoreland - instead of the Republican normative negative approach – how about you tell us what we should have done and what impact Republican ideology (under a John McCain for example) would have brought us this100 days down the line. You can’t - but, rave on - it is expected.

Bill Kennedy - as you can tell by his “backwards glance” – obviously stumbles on diplomacy and a casual “bow” (which beats the devil out of George’s kiss, hug and hand-holding greeting) - of the same “tin-horn king of a sordid Middle East dictatorship” - wow, can Bill say that in one breath? Billy (if I may take that name liberty) what started out as a sound article - quickly fades into another sad combination of words, little thought and no suggestion of how to make it work – oops that’s right, it’ll be “left to history”

And now to the best - Bill England’s Letter to the Editor – speak of Republican rants – here’s not just another - but perhaps the best. It is biased, negative, without hope, and surely short on love of neighbor. But I do understand Bill’s logic: help none, forgive none, embrace none but those who look like him, walk like him, and think like him. I guess Billy (another name liberty on my part – or perhaps Billy II, yeah I like that) - I guess Billy II would like to see every Hispanic returned to their country - no social programs (except for Republicans) - no financial support to the world’s poor (not even children, Billy II?) .Overall it was the greatest worthless rant on page 6.

These three rants - oops articles - - can be summed up by the heading of Jack Slay’s “opinion” same page/date: “Twisted Logic, tarnished image, tortured souls”… I agree with Jack, I hope we are now on a better, more moral track. Oh, Billy II - we don’t “play” the Pledge of Allegiance” - it’s not “sung” - it’s repeated. like an oath. “one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Pray for the men and women who serve this nation with their lives to protect our freedoms - - God Bless America (all of us - even those with “green cards” - and, OK - Republicans).

Peace

Tom Hunkele

we have all experienced enlightenment. i did when obama campained in the primaries saying he would use public financing. when nominated no. lie. he said he would have no lobbyist in his administration. last count over 30 were there. lie.does it seem to you that democrats like to hike taxes but can not stand to pay them? seems there was this issue where aig got bonuses that no one knew about but was sighned into law by obama himself and put into bill by his people who then lied about it until they had to face up to reallity. also democrats can say one thing such as biden did the other day but what other democrats think they said is what counts. dont give me enlightenment such as this. with their track record on lieing how can we believe anything they say when they mean something else.
