Sex crimes lead indictments

Violent sex offenses were among the 65 indictments returned by a grand jury this week for the May term of Troup Superior Court.

Arraignments are scheduled for May 12 and 14.

Vatius Desmond Shealey Jr., 21, and Anthony Wayne Williams, 22, both of West Point, were indicted for the alleged abduction and sexual assault of an underage girl on Dec. 13. They face charges of kidnapping, rape, child molestation, statutory rape and false imprisonment, and also are accused of stealing the victim’s cell phone.

Timothy Brice Cindrick, 32, of LaGrange was indicted on charges of aggravated sexual battery, aggravated child molestation and five counts of child molestation for alleged incidents involving two girls between October and January.

Reginald Bernard Cox, 36, of LaGrange was indicted for allegedly raping and molesting a girl on Oct. 26.

Randy Joe Wagner, 54, of LaGrange, who allegedly choked and badgered a woman on Aug. 15, was indicted on charges of false imprisonment, aggravated assault, sexual battery and two counts of simple battery.

Barry Jason Fowler, 33, of LaGrange was indicted on two counts each of aggravated child molestation and child molestation for alleged incidents involving a young girl between April 2008 and February of this year.

The grand jury accused Marcus Terrell Quiller, 27, of LaGrange of breaking into a Wilburn Avenue home Dec. 24 and pointing a 9mm handgun at three men during an attempted armed robbery. He is charged with three counts of aggravated assault, burglary and weapons violations.

Tammy Jean Cruz, 46, of LaGrange, a former nurse at Emory Clark-Holder Clinic, was indicted for allegedly calling in fraudulent prescriptions for alprazolam and hydrocodone, stealing codeine cough syrup, hydrocodone and alprazolam from the clinic, and possession of hydrocodone, codeine and alprazolam, along with less than an ounce of marijuana.

John Henry Green, also known as John Henry Lee, 45, of LaGrange was indicted for two burglaries at Dairy Queen and one each at Rogers Barbeque and Loan Depot, all on New Franklin Road, as well as an attempted burglary at Loan Depot. He also was accused of entering a truck owned by Loan Depot with intent to commit a theft and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

Gregory Leon Mobley, 35, of LaGrange was indicted for burglaries at G.A.P. Beauty and Barber Supply on Hamilton Road, McDaniel Printing on South Dawson Street, McCann’s Furniture on Hogansville Road and The Coffee Shop on Broome Street.
