The Kentucky woman diagnosed with swine flu last month was transferred Thursday afternoon from West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange to an undisclosed hospital.

Medical Center President Jerry Fulks said he couldn’t disclose the name of the hospital or say whether it was in Georgia, but he said it was a “tertiary” facility engaged in teaching and research.

“It was not an emergency transfer,” he said.

Hospital spokesperson Allison Davis said little information can be released about the patient because her family has asked for privacy

The 30-year-old woman has been in critical, but stable condition since she was admitted to the LaGrange hospital April 26 after traveling to Mexico, returning to her home in Kentucky, and then attending a wedding in LaGrange.
