A 3-year-old boy was seriously injured Thursday afternoon when his left foot got caught in a lawnmower in Meriwether County, authorities said.
Family members apparently tried to drive the child to West Georgia Medical Center, but stopped at Lafayette Parkway and Eichelberger Drive, and flagged down a state trooper about 6:45 p.m., said LaGrange Fire Department spokesman Chris Taylor.
Taylor said the boy had “severe bleeding.” An ambulance took him to LaGrange Mall where a helicopter transferred him to Egleston children’s hospital in Atlanta.
The child’s name and condition were not immediately available.
