Carlos Freeman, 20, reported the incidents Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and said he briefly chased an unidentified man from the rear of his residence toward Hines and Ware streets Tuesday. The rear door of Freeman’s residence was damaged in both incidents, police said.
An anonymous source said Freeman used a posthole digger to bury cocaine in his back yard after the second attempted burglary to prevent police from finding the drugs in his residence, Sgt. Mark Cavender said. Police found 32 grams of cocaine packaged with scales in the spot identified by the source. Freeman was charged with trafficking cocaine.
