LaGrange police accused a woman of burglarizing a residence in the first block of Heard Street on Tuesday morning while carrying a glass tube containing cocaine.

Vivian Parham, 41, of East Crovat Street was charged with forced entry burglary of a residence, possession of tools used for burglary and possession of cocaine. The owner of the residence said Parham used a hack saw to pry his front door open. Jewelry possibly taken in other burglaries was found in Parham’s pockets, police said. Nothing was stolen from the residence on Heard Street.

Suspected meth lab busted

Troup County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man suspected of operating a meth lab on Pop Reeses Road on Tuesday. Craig Allen, 43, of Pop Reese Road was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, parole violation and driving on a suspended license.

Burglaries, thefts

— The owner of China Garden at 1016 Hogansville Road said a thief entered the restaurant through an unlocked rear door Tuesday afternoon and stole $125 from a cash register and a glass jar containing $28 in quarters.

— An employee of New Ventures at 306 Fort Drive said a thief stole $200 from a cash box inside a filing cabinet.

— A resident of the 300 block of Dix Street said a thief broke into her home through a bedroom window and stole a 32-inch flat-screen TV.

Guilty pleas

Sentenced after pleading guilty Tuesday in Troup Superior Court were:

— Jeffery Bertan Moreland, 39, of Newnan; three years in prison for financial transaction card fraud;

— Clarence Wooodrow Perry, 47, of Lanett, Ala.; five years in prison for second-degree forgery; and

— David Broderick Williams, 26, of West Point; two years in prison for for second-degree forgery.
