McDonald Moore, Sr., a native of Eufaula, Ala. and resident of Mobile, Ala, died at a local hospital June 16, 2009.

A resident of Mobile since 1967 his many achievements include being an accomplished Chemist at International Paper and Educator at Bishop State Community College and Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. His commitment to community was demonstrated through involvement with Omega Si Phi Fraternity, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, and the mentoring of inspiring of youth. He attended Van Buren School in Eufaula and graduated from Monroe High School in Albany, Ga. He received his BS Degree in Chemistry from Fort Valley State University, Fort Valley, Ga and his MS Degree from Kansas State. He furthered his educational endeavors at several universities and international corporations, including. He leaves to mourn his passing; wife, Carrie K. Moore; son, McDonald Moore, Jr., Mobile; daughters, Karon L. Moore, Tallahassee, Fl. and Patricia A. Moore, Mobile; four grandchildren, Mallorie K. Roberts, Christle M. Roberts, Mary H. Roberts and Bobby Roberts, II. Enjoyable childhood and adult memories are shared by his seblings: brother, George (Ruth) Moore, LaGrange, and sisters, Roxie (James) Stewart, Durham, NC; Louie M. Marshall, Albany, Ga.; Jannie M. Jackson and Alice M . (Thomas) Denson, Jacksonville, Fla. He is survived by many nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Toulminville- Warren Street United Methodist Church, Monday June 22, 2009 at 11:00 am.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 am. Interment at Gethsemane Cemetery.

Arrangements by Christian Benevolent Funeral 201 N. Hamilton Street Mobile, Al 36603. Viewing will be held at Christian Benevolent Saturday June 20, 2009.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be given to the Toulminville Warren Street United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund 2271 St. Stephens Rd., Mobile, Al. 36617.
