The grader was parked at Wilson Road near where the road turns to dirt June 10. The damage occurred between then and Thursday.
Damage was estimated at $300.
Man charged with selling alcohol to minors
A clerk at Shell Food Martat 2750 Roanoke Road was charged with selling alcohol to a minor after sheriff’s deputies saw a youth with liquor in the parking lot.
Chul Young Choi, 45, of Weathers Drive was arrested after lawmen, who were in the parking lot, saw a group of juveniles near a truck. As deputies watched, another youth came out of the store with a white sack with a six pack of Smirnoff Ice and attempted to hide the sack from officers, then leave in the truck.
The youth surrendered the drinks to officers and said he didn’t have a phony ID and wasn’t asked for one by the clerk. Choi said he was “sorry” after officers told him the person he sold to was younger than 21.
One of the juveniles in the truck tested positive for alcohol; he was released to his parents.
Thefts
- A Hamilton Road resident said she was in the process of moving out of her trailer and had left it unlocked when a thief came in and took a Magnavox DVD and RCA television, worth a combined $180.
- A 16-foot utility trailer with a dual axle was taken from a Whitaker Road yard Wednesday, deputies said. It is worth $1,500.
- A thief broke into a Ford Explorer and took $100 in items while it was parked at a Salem Road house.
Damage
- A Norwood Road man said a thief broke into his car and took items totaling $500.
- A Bartley Road woman said a thief broke into her car and took $200 in items Tuesday or Wednesday.
