A pair of Dixie Youth Baseball district tournaments got under way Saturday in LaGrange, and it was a winning day for a quartet of Troup County teams.

In the 11-12 tournament, Troup American and Troup National both won in convincing fashion.

Troup National blanked Pike County 10-0, and Troup American handled Manchester 13-2.

Troup National will play Thomaston at 2 p.m. Sunday, while Troup American is off until Monday.

In the 9-10 tournament, Troup National had no trouble in its opener, surging past Pike County National 18-0, while Troup American outlasted Hogansville in a game that went two extra innings.

Troup National and Troup American will meet at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in a winner’s bracket game, while Hogansville will play at 3:30 p.m. as it tries to keep its tournament hopes alive.
