Jimmy ‘Jim’ Joshua Pressley, 84, of LaGrange died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at LaGrange Nursing and Rehab.

Mr. Pressley was born April 30, 1925 in West Point, son of the late John Pressley and Ardie Mannings Pressley. He had lived in LaGrange all his life and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Pressley was self employed as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator before retiring. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ressie Brown Pressley, a daughter, Charlotte Grice, and a son, Allen Pressley.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Reba Pressley of LaGrange; grandchildren and their spouses, Michelle and Lee Parker of LaGrange, Shane Pressley of Atlanta, Vicki and J.M. Johnson of LaGrange, Shalet and Chad Moore of LaGrange, Brandy Tussey of Sandy Hook, KY, and Tara and Brian McKeen of LaGrange; and great-grandchildren, Alex Parker, Joshua Baker, Jagger Johnson, Hannah Johnson, Katie Moore, Ansley Moore, Brian Moore, Gabriel Alan Tuttle, Destiny Tussey and Addison Tussey.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. today, Monday, June 29, 2009 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Jeff Boomer and Reverend Chris Wilkie officiating. Burial was in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
