Police have charged a LaGrange man in the shooting of a 15-year-old walking along a street.

Investigators said James Edward Moss, 26, of Borton Street, was identified by the victim in a lineup and police put out a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested in Clayton County on Monday on unrelated charges and is expected to be returned to LaGrange soon.

Moss is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime as a result of the shooting.

Ladavious Dozier of Auburn Avenue, who was shot in the stomach, was in critical but stable condition this morning at Egleston children’s hospital of Atlanta.

Dozier was walking on East Crovat Street about 6:10 p.m. Friday when the suspect came up in a dark car with tinted windows driven by another person. The car left the scene and the suspect fired two to four shots from a handgun, then fled along a path toward Wright Street.
