Board names school leaders

The Troup County school board Tuesday appointed a new principal at West Side Magnet School and an assistant principal at Callaway Middle School.

Cynthia McCloud, who succeeds the retiring Pippy Rogers at West Side, currently serves as assistant principal at Jefferson Parkway Elementary School in Coweta County, where she has been with the school system since 1988.

She earned a master’s degree in education administration and supervision, and a specialist degree in education from the University of West Georgia. She has a doctoral degree in education from Argosy University.

Wendell K. Mills, the new assistant principal at Callaway High, graduated from Auburn University with a music education degree, and earned a master’s degree and specialist degree in education leadership from Troy University.

He currently serves as assistant principal at Eufaula (Ala.) City Schools.
