Mrs. Dera Littlefield Brown, 85, of Sugar Hill and formerly of Hogansville, died Sunday, July 12, 2009, at her home.

Mrs. Brown was born December 16, 1923, in Heard County, daughter of the late Troy Littlefield and the late Gertrude Shirey Littlefield. She lived in Hogansville most of her life, was a member of Highland Baptist Church, and retired from Playtex International.

Survivors include her daughter, Janet Brown Daugereau of Sugar Hill; sister and brother in-law, Fayzell and Robert Daniel, and brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Melba Littlefield, all of Hogansville; sister in-law, Loma Littlefield of Powder Springs. She was the wife of the late Jim F. Brown, who died in 1984, and the late John Hanks, who died in World War II; and was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Ruth Littlefield.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, in the Chapel of Claude A. Mc-Kibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank Sledge and Mr. Harold Todd will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
