Mrs. Marilyn Virginia Strozier Lang of 634 White Oak Drive in Newnan passed away Monday at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Mrs. Lang, a native of LaGrange, was born June 24, 1951 and was the daughter of Johnnie L. Cameron and the late Albert Strozier.After graduating from Troup High School, Marilyn relocated to Chicago where she became a very dynamic and successful business woman.She was co-owner of Norm’s Custom Detail in Wilmette, Illinois for 20 years before selling the business in 2006 and retiring to Newnan to be closer to her extended family. Marilyn’s strong devotion to her family was also exhibited by her service as family treasurer for the annual Cameron family reunion for many years.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 21 years, Norman Lang, Newnan; mother, Johnnie L. Cameron, LaGrange; four sisters, Janice Leonard (Ronnie), Birmingham, Ala.; Elaine Tucker, Newnan; Julia Easter and Florence Rosser, both of LaGrange; three brothers, Lucious Strozier, Laurel, Md.; Robert Lewis Strozier, Aberdeen, Md.; and Ernest Strozier (Deloris), Rex, Ga.; one aunt, Virginia Mayes (Robert), College Park. Though she never had children of her own, Marilyn graciously played the role of a devoted mother to her beloved nieces and nephews whom she also leaves to cherish her memory, along with numerous cousins and friends.

The celebration of life service will be Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the New Mount Olive Knotts Baptist Church. Rev. Oscar Meredith will officiate. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of her mother, Johnnie L. Cameron at 299 Ragland Street.

Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
