Miss Ida Lucille ‘Tootie’ Wilson, 81, of LaGrange passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Hospice LaGrange.

Miss Wilson was born June 25, 1928 in Troup County, daughter of the late Homer Virgil Sr. and Mattie Lottie Woodyard Wilson. She retired from CB&T after 35 years as a bank teller. Miss Wilson was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square, and was secretary in the nursery.

Survivors include her sister, Frances Steckiel of Jacksonville, FL; nieces and nephews, Richard (Sandy) Wilson of Doraville, Marijayne Layne of Chattanooga, TN, Virginia Ree (Jim) Weldon of LaFayette, AL, Eddie (June) Prather of Ellijay, Emily (Lamar) Huber of LaGrange, Jo (Rocky) Pemberton of Welch, AL, Al (Beth) Steckiel of Colorado Springs, CO, Virginia Ann (Jimmy) Moore, Susan Steckiel all of Jacksonville, FL, Tommy (Jenny) Wilson, and John Wilson all of LaGrange; 21 great-nieces and great-nephews; 17 great-great nieces and great-great-nephews; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Homer (Bucky) Wilson Jr., William (Abie) Wilson, and Thomas (Tommy) Wilson Sr., and sisters, Marion Prather, Charlotte Wilson, and Minnie Claire Wilson.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 Wednesday at the Ida Cason Callaway Memorial Chapel of the First Baptist Church on the Square with Rev. Paul Blair and Pastor Richard Clinard officiating. Interment will be at Shadowlawn Cemetery.

The family will be at her home, 311 Alford St., and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6:00 until 9:00.
