Callaway Stadium was packed with excited fans when the first game was played there 50 years ago – and again Thursday night as traditional rivals LaGrange and Newnan squared off in the first game of the stadium’s 50th anniversary season.

A renovation project that got under way this summer aims to prepare the stadium for another 50 years of football, commencements and special events.

50 years ago people sttood up for the National Anythem...Now they dance when it is played....wish it were last.
