If you could avoid pain, would you? If you could stop pain for your significant others, would you? I’ve a funny feeling that your answer would be YES.

I’m talking about the flu. We and the rest of the world experience the flu every year. And it will kill approximately 30,000 people this year as it has

historically since records have been kept.

Flu is not unusual but it does cause unnecessary deaths.

Here’s a concept…..

Try preparing ahead of time. There’s no need to panic, but there is a need to be prepared.

I’m going to say this again cause it’s important….. Try preparing ahead of time.

Quite simply, be aware of the crowds you hang with. Wash your hands often and well, and, do not bring your hands to your mouth or nose.

Sounds simple, right?

Fine, now consider those around you. Encourage them to maintain decent flu heath habits. Spreading a disease of any sort requires contact.

So, Duh, minimize contact during the flu season. And ya gotta love places that promote anti-infectious behavior. Like the Town Fitness Center, and great up-scale restaurants like TJ Rockers in Roanoke And Momma Mia Pizzeria in West Point.

This list is by no means excusive - simply a few joints that I respect. Just watch the places you dine. And if they won’t let you inspect their kitchen, run away.

Bottom line is that control of the flu is up to YOU. Deal with it, think smart, and get on with it.

Perhaps I neglected to mention, always talk with your doctor regarding pulmonary care. Please use the professionals - I’m just an engineer, and not qualified to render on health issues.

But, like you, I have my own opinion.
