A native and longtime resident of Georgia, Mary will be laid to rest in Myrtle Hill Cemetery after a funeral service at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The visitation will be held tonight from 7 until 9 and the funeral service on Saturday will be at 11:00 am.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Gladney and son, “Eddie” Gladney. Her father, Louie Kent, Sr. and mother, Odessa Betts Kent, brother, Tommy Kent and sisters Agnes Kent Driessens and Peggy Kent Seymour also preceded her in death.
Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Marsha and Stephen Davey: grandson and wife, Jamie and Renee Gladney; great-granddaughters, Taylor and Hannah and grandchildren Benjamin, Seth, Candace and Charity. The surviving siblings of Mary are Kathryn Christian (Raymond); Barbara Cargill (Albert); Louie “Skeet” Kent (Virginia); Rose Bone; Jack Kent (Johnnie); Walter “Buck” Kent (Barbara); Bonnie Morgan (Jim);and many beloved nieces, nephews and spouses.
Mary will be deeply missed by her entire extended family and her family of faith, stretching from North Carolina to Georgia. Her gift of giving, sharing and writing cards of encouragement touched and blessed the lives of so many. Motivated by her love and commitment to Jesus Christ, her Savior and Lord, Mary determined to make her life a blessing. She succeeded!
Mary has now heard from her Savior, “Well done thou good and faithful servant.” She has now experienced the promise of Christ for those faithful ones who ran the race, finished their course, receiving the crown of everlasting righteousness.
