A 13-year-old at Carmike’s LaGrange 10 at 201 Main St. was found to have a .32-caliber Smith and Wesson revolver about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

LaGrange police Capt. Mike Pheil said officers arrived after a call of a weapon at the theater. They then stopped the boy based on a physical description given, searched him and located the loaded weapon.

He was charged with underage possession of a pistol. Serial numbers on the gun are being used to determine whether it was reported as being stolen.

‘So that’s where my drugs are’

A police search of a vehicle on Whitesville Road yielded a bag of pot the driver said he had been searching for all week.

Officers pulled over the 1984 oldsmobile Cutlass due to loud music. The driver, who had a suspended license, was handcuffed as the officer began searching the vehicle, who suspected marijuana had been recently used inside.

Searching the inside of the driver’s seat, the officer located a small bag with alleged marijuana inside, when the driver said, “I didn’t know that was in there! I’ve been looking for that for a week, because I lost it about a week ago!”

He was charged with an excessive music violation, driving on a suspended license and possession of marijuana.
