A fatal vehicle accident topped the list of 75 grand jury indictments returned this week for the November term of Troup County Superior Court.
Arraignments are scheduled for Monday and Wednesday, and trials begin Nov. 17.
Chad Moman, 28, of LaGrange was indicted on charges of first-degree vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident. Police said Moman’s vehicle struck and killed 3-year-old Odaliesa Deleon-Velazco on July 23 at Fairwood Trailer Park off Whitesville Street as she rode a tricycle near her residence.
Moman “accelerated his truck in reverse at a high rate of speed in a residential neighborhood without ensuring there was no one behind him,” according to the indictment, which said he was under the influence of alcohol and methamphetamine.
Edward Donel Goodwin Jr., 39, of LaGrange was indicted for an armed robbery Aug. 3 at CharterBank off Lafayette Parkway. Goodwin, who allegedly used a pellet pistol in the holdup, also was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer,
Bubacarr Conteh, 25, of Stone Mountain was indicted for an Aug. 28 armed robbery at Pure Food Mart on Hamilton Street. The charges also include kidnapping, false imprisonment, simple battery and obstruction of an
officer.
Michael Wayne Stout, 39, of LaGrange was indicted for the July 7 armed robbery of a Summit store on Hogansville Road.
Indicted on child molestation charges were Joseph Nathan Hardy Jr., 52, Jeffery Walter Lauderdale, 19, and Kenneth Lamar Barrett, 36, all of LaGrange, and Dana Renee Hammond, 26, of Hogansville.
Danny Lamar Dunson, 41, of LaGrange was indicted for burglaries at Bethel Bethel Baptist Church on Handley Street, Leete Hill United Methodist Church on Hamilton Street, St. James Christian-Methodist-Episcopal Church on Revis Street, the Livingstone Corner Church on Kelley Street and Community Action for Improvement’s Head Start Preschool Center on McGregor Street. Police said he also stole a van from the Livingstone church.
