Gaddy, 46, of Hogansville is scheduled for trial Oct. 16 in Troup Superior Court on charges of aggravated child molestation, child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
Chief Assistant District Attorney Monique Kirby has filed a notice of intent to present evidence that Gaddy had similar sexual contact with three other males.
According to the notice, witnesses said Gaddy: solicited and engaged in oral sodomy with a 21-year-old; solicited oral sodomy, kissing and sexual intercourse with an 18-year-old high school student; and enticed and permitted a 19-year-old to fondle her.
A judge will decide whether to allow the evidence, which Kirby said would show the defendant’s “bent of mind, intent, motive, identity and course of conduct.” A hearing had yet to be scheduled, although it’s expected in early October.
Among other issues at the hearing will be a defense motion for individual questioning of potential jurors about pre-trial publicity and other matters.
Defense attorney William L. Kirby of Columbus hasn’t yet asked for a change of venue, but noted the case “has generated substantial public interest and media interest in TV, newspapers, radio and the Internet.”
In another court case, Ronald Lee Satterwhite, 38, of LaGrange was sentenced to five years in prison Tuesday after a jury convicted him of second-degree criminal damage to property.
Police said he threw an object at the front and back windshields of his ex-girlfriend’s car on Cedar Street, causing more than $500 damage.
Satterwhite didn’t want to plead guilty, but didn’t want to go to trial either. He didn’t want to come into the courtroom and kept telling Judge Quillian Baldwin that he wasn’t going to stand trial. The judge said he was, then Satterwhite said, “You can do it without me.”
Satterwhite also yelled at the judge, but calmed down while surrounded by sheriff’s deputies.
The trial lasted less than a day and the jury took about 30 minutes to return a guilty verdict.
Satterwhite had received a 10-year prison sentence in 1998 for beating the same victim, breaking her car window, stealing items and assaulting police officers. He was paroled in 2006.
