Phony fear

Dear Editor:

Where was the religious conservatives’ fear and loathing about deficit spending when Bush was wasting trillions on the needless oil war in Iraq? Why are religious conservatives so eager for our government to spend fortunes to kill people, but express outrage when a dime is spent to reduce human suffering? Are they “called” to make the life of others more difficult? Maybe their fear is phony. Maybe their patriotism is a sham. Maybe they are just mean people who hide behind a stranger’s mask of kindness. If you are a religious conservative, get off that oxymoron fence! Either close down the church and strap on your jack boots, or see the light of compassion and work to make life better!

...And I would like to offer that the President and party in charge have the power to end it right now. Why haven't they?

Where are the stories about how many soldiers have lost their lives since the democrats took office?

Why isn't Cindy Sheehan camping out near the presidents property?

Ohhh, ok... Its different now. Doesn't matter anymore does it?

Your insight into this matter is scued. You do not understand that the war in Iraq was not and is not a war about oil. Did we have some misinformation? YES! but you have to take action based upon the evidence at hand. Sadam Hussein wanted the rest of the world to think that he had WMD because he was a brute thug.... and he paid for that with his life. Had we not stopped him he could and would have taken the lives of thousands if not millions more. It is not an "OXYMORON Fence" that we conservative christians sit on.... it is the ideal that some things are worth fighting for.... right is right and wrong is wrong. In this circumstance the proposed national health care program is wrong and should not be. For you to attempt to compare apples to oranges, as you have in this case, is frankly offensive. That, however, does not surprise me either. If I make such generalized comments about you I'm a racist and a bigot, but it is your God Ordained Right to spew absolute excrement about me and I should just take it and that is why we "Religious Conservatives" will fight this health care reform legislation to the very end.
